Lambert Smith Hampton has asked UK and international maritime and general engineering companies to submit expressions of interest ahead of a 30 June deadline.

A modern heavy manufactuiring facility

Shipyard Portsmouth is situated centrally within the Naval Base.  It provides a large scale, modern and secure manufacturing facility of up to 500,000 sq ft, with transportation links by both land and sea through Portsmouth Harbour.

Facilities include the Shiphall, two docks, Plate Cutting Facilities, workshops with overhead craneage, stores and Administration Offices, which are fully integrated into the HM Naval Base Portsmouth.

The Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO), the Ministry of Defence’s property and services provider, is looking for a tenant that will utilise the unique opportunities presented by the site and its skilled workers.

Considerable interest

Robin Dickens, a Director at Lambert Smith Hampton, said: “We’ve had considerable interest in Shipyard Portsmouth and conducted site tours with a number of blue chip businesses over the past couple of months.

“The site provides a complete solution for businesses in the shipbuilding, heavy marine or general engineering sectors.  Not only does it benefit from transportation links by land and sea but it also has access to a highly skilled local workforce with experience in shipbuilding and aircraft carrier construction.”

Interested parties should contact Lambert Smith Hampton on 01489 579 579 or 020 7198 2000.
